A concept to wear

Dorrara is an independent jewellery brand based in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Every collection begins with an idea inspired by the pearl, how it forms and the meanings it holds. Through design and craftsmanship, that idea becomes a piece of jewellery you can wear and form your own connection with.

We find inspiration in the way a pearl develops, layer by layer, over time. Its formation gives us much to explore, from gradual change to the relationship between what lies beneath the surface and what we see. Each collection takes a different aspect of this process as its starting point and adds a new story to Dorrara.

Within each collection, our women’s and men’s lines explore different subjects rooted in the same theme. Each has its own design language, offering a different way to connect with the idea behind the collection.

We work with independent designers because each brings a particular way of seeing. Their imagination, experience and sense of form and proportion shape how a theme is interpreted. This gives every collection its own identity, with the original idea carried through its forms and details.

The same care goes into how a design is made. We select skilled artisans for their expertise, precision and understanding of the designer’s vision. From the placement of a pearl to the balance of a piece and the finish of a clasp, each detail contributes to how the jewellery looks, feels against the skin and moves with you.

A piece of jewellery can give an outfit character, bring back a memory or express something that matters to us. We may be drawn to its appearance first, then find a deeper connection as we discover its story.
